This weekend I am going to the Pick'n Pull place to get a transmission for a 1990 Camry.

The car has an A140E transmission in it.

While researching it I noticed A140E/L listed in a lot of locations on the internet.

What is the difference between the two??

My goal is to get the tranny from as late of model car as possible. It will give me a lot more choices if there is no difference betwee the two.

The A140L does not have electronic control and is an older design. The newer A140E is the same trans but with electronic control (by the cars computer). If the car has an A140E, use this model trans.
