1) my 93 cam's reverse lights do not work.. i have tried swapping bulbs but that did not work.. what is the prob?? wires seem to be clean and fine.. i didnt have too much time to fiddle with them but i'm running out of ideas because the same wire is split between the reverse lights and the middle brake lights.
2) i partially installed the intake i had on it and by partial i mean only swapped the filter ... i will post pics later as i get home cause i'm at work. i left the resonator and the main rubber hose cause i wasnt too thrilled about the idle noise when used with a aluminum hose.. so its a bit quieter now and still delivers a bit more low end power. But the real question is now my air sensor that was in the filter box hangs loose now... is that bad??
also.. how feasable is attaching rubber sound proofing material to the underside of the hood?? I got a few good strips lying around cause i used it for my home theater which i'm building.. so might try that out.
Originally posted by 88 LE I'm not sure about rubber sound proofing material, but Dynamat makes something thats meant to be stuck to the underside of the hood.
Really, I could use something like that... mine is falling apart... anyways... does it actually block heat from going into the engine bay? I don't give a fuck about sound, so if it is only stopping/quiteing the engine's noise then it is coming off asap!
1) check back-up light switch on transaxle.
2) I'm guessing youre talking about the intake air temp. sensor. If it's hangin loose, then ya, thats bad. it's function is self explanatory and its input is one of a few the pcm uses for fuel management. just make sure its where its supposed to be and watch out for vac. leaks.

I believe it is heat and sound resistant. Check out www.fatmat.com for a cheaper alternative to the dynamat.

Originally posted by arcasmachineracing omg, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I think I need pictures to understand what you are saying, but it doesn't sound good.
IAT (intake air temperature) sensor.
You have yours plugged into the bottom of your intake piping (I saw the pics).
my sis is in her room i've taken the pics already but i got to wait till shes out of there to snag it and post em... hehe, but ya that rubber stuff is about 1/2 a cm thick and its used in home theators for keeping the sound from bouncing back. I was cuttin piece up today and trying to fit them in those cracks in the hood... it can be done.. but damn thats a pain in the ass.. gotta cut and measure and stick and make sure it stays.. so i got 1 piece up and quit after.....
so ur saying i should try to figure out how to insert the intake sensor in the original rubber tubbing?? cause right now it resting on the original filter right next to the new cone filter.
The last pic.. just wanted to know if that is the tube i replace with the one that came with my intake kit??.. its about 8 inches long and looks like the same diameter.
that tube is the crankcase breather tube. i don't see why you have to replace it as you are using the stock intake piping.
as for the IAT sensor, i dont have a 5s-fe so i'm not sure, but i'm guessing that it was plugged into the airbox as you've replaced that with the filter now so the wire is just hanging around? is that the case? then i suggest somehow intergrating the sensor into your stock intake piping, or otherwise the aluminium piping that came with you kit might have a fitting for it to be screwed (??) into.
