For SoCal peeps, Question about Window Tints

Hey guys. I'm always confused with the percentage of the window tints. Are the tints darker when the percentage is higher or lower?

Also, do any of you SoCal peeps know a good place that can install tints well? Location within Orange County?

lower is darker, percent is percent of light allowed through.

Since you live in so cal, you ought to know something about tinting your windows here. I had a 1985 Nissan 200sx with factory tint on all the windows and i got pulled over more than once just because of the tinting. And i know lots of other people with tinted windows that have the same problem. The law around here doesnt like cars with tinted windows. The darker your tint the more likely you are to get pulled over for no reason.

^ I know the tint laws, I've worked with a Police Department before. As long you don't tint the front it's fine. The rear doesn't matter, but the front windows can't be tinted. Factory tints are okay for some reason. You probably got pulled over because your front windows were tinted.

I'm only gonna tint my front windows 90%.without any reflective metallic elements.
