Talking Rippmod Supercharged Camry 500mile update !

Wasabi wasabi again everyone !!,.. well its been 500miles since my cars been on boost and still going very good.. no problems.. YET ehehe. We finished installing the rest of the kit tonight (fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel regulator and tune it with AFC). We got fatter O rings for the fuel injectors going into the fuel rail to get a tighter fit, the ones the injectors came with fit.. but it didnt feel like it was too snug like the factory ones so..... better safe than sorry. The stock fuel pump connector had to be cut off since it didnt fit the 255 Walboro pump, according to Rippmod techs they did the samething and said its fine with insulated female connectors. With my kit i recieved a HKS Super AFR for the time being untill Ross can get his hands on a 95 Camry to make some settings for the Blackbox, we had a problem using the HKS Super AFR since the first day we hooked it up.. its just a little confusing to use and because of our time difference it was hard to tune it with Ross on the phone. With the HKS Super AFR hooked up it would idle funny and any adjustments made wouldnt do any change in the car and we were positive we had the right wires.. also it would trigger the check engine light for some reason we werent sure.

So.. i went and bought myself a Apexi S-AFC since my brother was running one in his car and he knew how to use this one. It was kind of costly but i was planning on getting one anyways because of the displays it had (throttle percent, rpm, air fuel ratio, intake pressure, voltage and so on) it could display any 4 at a time. I have the TP,RPM,Voltage, and Correction displayed on mine. We knew we had the right wires on the ECU because once we hooked the Apexi S-AFC up it was up and running right away.. idle perfect, rpm was accurate, and no check engine light on !! YAY !!. Also when we made adjustments the car would react right away.. i love this thing !! it looks cool and is alot easier to use.. im going to be running it as a display when i get my blackbox from Ross.

After everything was installed the car was up and running again.. we tuned it a little using the Apexi S-AFC making it run richer at higher RPMs and the correction from -20% at 800rpm to 0% at 6500rpm.. pretty much less fuel at idle and increasing fuel as RPMs get higher. The injectors were working perfectly and no leaks, regulator was reading pressure and fuel pump was pumping away !! i gotta say.. the fuel pump is alot louder than stock, i can hear it whine from outside the car and if i had my back seat off its really noticable inside the car.. it sounds like a fishtank filter ehehe. I took the car out for a drive and it ran good.. i took it all the way up to 5000rpm at 77% throttle and no problems, boost was strong and car picked up nice. I still didnt get it to blow off.. i guess im still not at max boost, i drove it around the freeway picking up to 90mph pretty easily at 70% + throttle. I didnt go full throttle yet.. guess im still not ready to yet ehehe i gotta get used to the car and gotta run it a little more to make sure things are OK but im slowly getting there. Anyways so far so good guys ! all i got left is to take it to the dyno to get some readings and some fine tuning then get the confidence to take it to full throttle. Im picking up my friends digital camera sometime this week so be sure to look for pictures soon, continue to wish me luck !! and of course ill keep you guys updated.

Do you have a vacumm hose connected to the blow off valve? I noticed that there was no hose connected to it in one of your pics.

I gotta admire your patience

I know the first thing I would do after the install would be to go to the highway and run it WOT, redlining every gear

Hmm... It should be blowing off then. Even when your not making boost and let off the gas it should blow off.

Is there a adjusting screw on it?
