Seat heaters

hey, has anyone did a DIY installation of seat heat elements? I'm planning to do it to my avalon this weekend.

that would definetly be worth looking into...

i haven't heard of anyone that's done it, but i'm sure some camry/avalon comes with it, you can probably buy the seat from the junk yard and all the electrical guts,

the tricky part would be the re-uphostering your seat after the install...

numerous companies make after market seat heaters that fit under your seat cloth or leather, many with switches and all included. Even the most expensive ones are only $200 for 2 seats.

yes they do make kits... and the buttons look OEM-like IMO... at least the ones i saw.

where have you seen them?
but the buttons will be just hanging from somewhere no? that is..unless you custom a space for it.

hey does my 95 SE have seat heaters cause i was looking at the fuse box and the sticker said Seat htr but my seat never gets warm so if you guys could let me know that would be cool

hey Peef,
you will know if your car is equiped with seat warmers if you have a switch with an icon that resembles the picture that i have posted. not the esp but the one beside it. this was taken off a VW or audi...but i think that most car makers use the same icon.

the reason for the seat heater on the fuse box is that your car could have been equiped with it.
