Angry 93 camry axle

Bought my kids 93 & 96 camrys. I usally do the work on them myself.
But have come to a dead end on this one.......
Bought a replacement for (HALF) Drive shaft (LH). Thought it would be a peice of cake to install as per service manual. Nooooot I week later, ready to give up.
Can not remove the tulip housing from the trans axle case. Tried everything.
Made up my own puller with a 20lb weight on the end. Nothing. Gave up and brought it down to local mechanics shop, 3 1/2 hours later, car returned to me, no charge, he gave up. From what I gather theres a snap ring on the end of the shaft that holds it to the transaxle output shaft and with some prying it should come loose. New to this forum and appreciate any help in advance.. Regards From California

A lot of cars have a similar design (snap ring on end of shaft). On my Maxima, I tried for a couple of hours without success, but everybody said it will come "Right Out".

The final advice I got (and it worked)was to get the biggest flat-head screwdriver I can find and wedge it in between the transaxle case and the halfshaft where it goes in. Wedge it in and then it pryed out.
