USA MAP sensor - '99 Camry Le - 4 cyl.

Help!! Do I really have to shell out $300+ for this postage stamp-size part? I am in disbelief. I thought my rough idling and cut-out problem was solved when my mechanic's OBD scanner indicated the MAP sensor as my problem until I priced the d**n thing.
Camrys are plentiful, why can't I find this part used? What about aftermarket? My mechanic said I would have parameter problems with anything not genuine Toyota. I've had the car parked for 2 weeks because I can't bring myself to order this thing.
Please tell me there's another, more reasonable solution to get this car back on the road.
Jim

Grab a aftermarket CAI. It has the MAF for you for about the same price and better airflow/sound/mpg/hp....etc

For cheaper prices on Toyota OEM parts try the on-line Toyota dealers. Years 98-01.

You can start calling auto salvage yards or looking for cars being parted out.
