Question headlights

hi guys, i'm new here but find your forum very informative and i need some help/info. i have a '97 gen 4 that i love but the headlights suck, i was thinking of replacing them with some from a gen 4.5 but from your forum i got that they won't fit, why? i know you may have answered such a question before but please send any response you have because i would love to know what if any is the major difference in these two. thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

There is a difference on the 97 there is a low and a high beam in 1 bulb. on the 99 there is a seperate low beam and a seperate high beam with daytime running lights. and if u were to swap out the headlights you have to change the hood fenders and bumper. unless u can find someone that will cut and mold them for you also since on 97 it has 1 harness for 1 bulb and onn 99 there is 2 harnesses for 2 bulbs.

Gen4.5 headlamps are deeper, so they'll hit your battery on the driver's side. Even if they fit in terms of depth, like 97Kamuri said, the body panels would need to be changed. There's a whole discussion regarding that. Give the "search" function a whirl.

i'm waiting for some reflector headlights similar to the ones they made for the gen 4.5 on ebay.

even with my silverstars they suck nuts.

my only other option is going hids but that might have to wait... either way those projectors would be nice.
