I went to the garage and had my front axle replaced and both of my front rotors resurfaced. My car was at the shop from 9:30 to noon. I also had my spark plugs replaced. It cost 310$ for everything. I thought it was a little high . What do you think?
It was 100$ for parts and 200$ for labor…..My car drives nice though now….
yeah I know it would be more at the Toyota Dealer, but the wires were not changed and the spark plugs are listed at 1.94 each so they are cheap...I think they put BOSCH Platinum on it....
I'm sorry that I'm posting in this thread and have nothing worth while to say, but I just had to make a comment.

Man, I keep seeing that damn avatar of yours and I salivate everytime it scrolls onto my screen. Being an ass man myself, I must say that is like, THE most phattest ass I have ever seen.
Who the hell does it belong to? Do you have more pics? Man, I'd love to put a new spark plug in...nevermind
/shamelessness

If parts were $100 and they did 2.5 hours of work, they charged you $80 per hour for labor. That would sound about right for a dealership, but a local garage is supposed to be cheaper on the labor. Luckily I only pay $40 per hour when I have to take it to the Toyota dealer (employee discount baby ).
Yeah I got there at 9:30 and left at noon. For the spark plugs and axle it was 100 so it means it was 200$ of labor...That sounds a little bit high.... Unless they charge more before it is a foreign car...I dont know....For labor I expected 125, 150 maybe.... not 200$
ha ha ha! great! i'm at work though and I'm assuming that site might be just a lot not safe for work viewing. damn, i'm seriously considering going home early. ha ha, just kidding...i've already made up my mind
thanks a lot man, i'll check it out later.
ps. are you from trinidad dude? if so, you're probably the closest "relative" i've seen on the boards. i don't think there are any other caribbean camry lovers on the board, is there?

Sounds about right considering that you had axles replaced (1-1.5 hours usually), and both rotors resurfaced (costs $20 per rotor at my shop). The spark plug replacement requires removal of the upper intake manifold/plenum, and that is about 1.5 hours. Adding the total up, that is about 3 hours of labour at average $50/hr, plus $40 for the rotor resurfacing. Sounds fair to me.
