Well my car has been broken for over a month now and with the snow starting to come down here in the Detroit Area, this is going to suck. You don't really realize how much you will miss driving your Camry's until you have to start driving around your Nikes.
Anyway, here are some pics of my dirty car outside the apartment in it's indefinite resting place. The Flexplate(automatic flywheel) broke on it so the transmission had to be pulled just to find out what it was and it is now in the trunk of the car. I refuse to just fix the flexplate however as i know the transmission which has over 160,000 miles on it is about to go. It is already showing signs of severe wear. Therefore I am doing a manual swap on the car with the 3sge transmission. As soon as the shop I am waiting on finishes locating a few more parts, I will be in business.
You can also see my tinted tails and new paintjob with shaved emblems however the car is filthy since it has just been sitting and since it is at night, it does not really show up that well. Kinda sucks how I got new paint just so my car could break down like a month 1/2 later.
My Intake assembly
My Transmission with FUBAR Flywheel on the right. You can see the entire center section just ripped out.
Bummer about the tranny...but here's an option to consider: Contact the local college that has an automotive shop, and see if they teach transmission repair. If they do, you may be able to get a rebuild done by students under supervision by a skilled teacher, and it'll only cost you what the parts alone actually cost. You may be able to get the tranny rebuilt very cheaply and fairly quickly that way. Can't hurt to try, can it?
Just one little piece of advice:
Everyone HATES getting into a dirty car. And the way you make it dirty is by putting dirty engine components (and other things) in it. I know, I've trashed an interior or two over the years. I did it one piece at a time. It's all little stuff that does it. An empty soda can will leak a drop or two on your seats or carpet. A few hundred cans later, you've got a carpet and seats that look and smell like ass.
Now, I keep a bottle of Resolve carpet cleaner in the trunk at all times along with some clean rags, and I vacuum out the whole car at least once a week, and I treat spots and stains the moment I notice them. This is how my '92 Camry has been treated since it was NEW, and its interior is FLAWLESS now that I did a deep detailing on it recently. You can EAT off that carpet or even the trunk carpeting.
Get those engine parts out of the passenger cabin and get yourself some plastic storage bins from Wal-Mart, and if you MUST keep your parts in the car, put them in the plastic bins, which will not leak...but that cardboard WILL allow oil to bleed through and stain your trunk carpeting.
You're proud of your ride's exterior. I'm sure that paintjob wasn't cheap. But if anything, it's MORE important to keep the INTERIOR nice. Women don't care too much if your car's paintjob needs a good washing, but do you think you're going to get any back seat action if the seats are nasty and she can smell the car the moment you open the door?
Parts OUT of the cabin, INTO the bin, and clean it up. You'll LIKE getting into a car that's so nice and clean that you don't have to apologize to anybody for its condition.

LOL, thanks for the advice. You sound like an infomercial or something. I do agree with you though. Here is the thing. One, nobody is allowed to eat in my car, not even me and I am very particular about people leaving $hit in there. The air intake assembly I really don't care about. Why? becasue as soon as I can afford it, those seats are coming out for something that has lateral support. I hate being thrust up against the door during spirited driving. Secondly as far as the trunk is concerened, there is no more fluid in the transmission. I checked it myself. Nothing is leaking through. The car does need to have a good interior washing though but it is in excellent condition for a car of it's age. I despise dirty interiors also. I have not had one female complain about the car being dirty yet and I don't plan to start anytime soon.
Here are a couple more pictures I found. First one is me at the track. Don't ask me what I ran because I am not telling. Last picture is of part of the custom 3sfe Head Package that Hotwheel Harmer is putting together for me. Hope to be making around 180 NA hp when all is said and done.
Hmmm? Anybody know how to get these pics to appear and not just be links?
