Exclamation >> Camry Factory Audio System Questions

Ok, I've got the normal 2001 Camry stock Audio system.

I'm wondering what the power output is of the Head Unit as far as wattage.

Also, what is the power handling of the speakers and at what Ohms?

If anyone has an old speaker sitting around they can look at to tell.........please do!!

Is it the JBL system or just stock or the premium system or what? There's more than one factory option.

No, just the normal system, not JBL.

Yes I have the separate tweeter.

This is on a Camry LE, with cd/tape/AMFM Head Unit.

Is the premium system separate thing from JBL system?

It must be the premium because the speakers hit pretty hard and are very clean, and I haven't been impressed with stock Toyota systems in the past.

JBL is on Gen 4.5 as well.................man I just answered my own question, lol.

I just remembered........JBL on Gen 4.5 has cloth grills on the back speakers and a little JBL emblem. I just saw it on some old ladies Camry last night.

Yes, the premium system is different from the JBL system. Premium audio on the gen4's is just the 3-in-1 radio/cassette/cd with tweeters up front. Amp is still integrated in the head unit.

JBL systems have a separate amp and different (and I hope, better quality) speakers. The head unit also looks a little different, display doesn't have the HUGE text that the premium system does (friends used to joke that they could see the track and time from the car behind me).

actually, i like the huge text of the 3-in-1 double din display. Buttons are big enough to not have to stare at the headunit to find the right button.

The buttons are great, I love them compared to my Kenwood's miniature buttons... it's the huge display I wish they downsized just a *little* ....
