4th Generation Car shaking between 50-60 mph at 2000 rpm

It has been shaking for a week. When I am driving on the highway the car does a pretty violent shake around 2000 rpms between 50-60 mph. Its stops when i get past 2,500 rpms or drop below 2000 rpm. Im pretty sure it is not the transmission.

Did you check your tires balancing weights?

Also check for a bad tire, bent rim, axle or wheel bearing issues. Jack up each tire, check for suspension and tire issues (plus missing wheel weights).

Run the car around that speed again and put it in netural. If it still exist, we can count that its not the tranny/engine.

Could be afew things. How much miles does the car have?. If the tire was going bad, it would be most bad at around 10~30 miles. My rear tire on my Cressida had a lump. tread seprating.

If the steering wheel shakes, probably front tires. If you feel the shake in the seat. probably the rear tires. Either way a tire or balance problem. Usually a bad tire is evident even at lower speeds. But if it is a borderline problem it is not so evident. If all else fails, and the tires LOOK good, have them dynamic balanced. That will show if any are bad, either by their losing a weight or a tread seperation.

I expierenced same problem at around 60-65 mph violent shakes. I would speed up to 70 on frwy and it would quit until i got off freeway. I bought new tires about 4 months ago.. and went back and had them rotated for free.. but i notice my steering wheel shimming a little..
