3rd Generation 95 Camry engine stalling

my Camry is running great, just can't solve a "burr in the saddle" problem.
Just did recent oil change with lube and filter change. However after driving the car on the highway for about 30min at 65mph, slowed down on off ramp, car started to sputter like it would cut out, oil lamp light flashed numerous times. After slowing to stop, car finally died. I placed it in "Park", it started up no problem (just put in new battery). This phenomena has only happened twice, definitely intermittent. Had also noticed fluctuation in temp gauge while driving- not extreme changes, but definite fluctuations. Could this problem be related to the EGR Valve? Fuel filter? fuel line related? Mass air flow sensor? Cooling system?

The car runs great in city driving, temp gauge stays normal.
Any suggestions?

"oil lamp light flashed numerous times"

I would first check the oil pressure with a manual pressure gage. You don't say how many miles are on the car, but that could be a sign of a weak oil pump or even bad engine bearings. Also, I don't mean to state the obvious, but check the oil level just to be safe and check for obvious signs of oil leaks.

If oil pressure and level checks out ok, I would next clean the idle air control valve. It has been known to cause stalling when it get's dirty. Do a search on this forum for "idle air control valve". It has been covered numerous times.

3rd Generation

thanks, Mike!

the car as 112K on it, I'll check out the oil pressure and level again. Was ok a couple weeks ago. hope it's not the egr valve, or egr vacuum control valve. it idles ok at a stop, just sputters and eventually dies after getting off the highway- could be the Idle control valve sticking? makes sense because at constant speed, valve could be forced open, when I let off the gas pedal, valve mabye sticking open
