Nah I don't think it's a loose screw. If you only get the "rattling" noise @ high volumes, one logical explanation is the lack of power being distributed to your speakers. This is usually the case when you have an aftermarket head unit powering all speakers and the quality is considerably worsened when jacked up. If you have the cash, and you're still runnin' factory speakers, i suggest getting 2 new pairs of aftermarkets. The sound quality is light years beyond that of OEM. If it's aftermarket speakers that are giving you problem, trying switching the two door speakers and see if you get the same problem. If you do, then you should seriously consider investing in a separate amp powering your speakers since that would seem like a 90% logical explanation for this problem. If not, then you know for sure your speaker is slowly deteriorating and it's time to whip out the credit card and get some new ones. But do keep in mind...the more power you have to your speakers, the louder they'll play w/o any distortion.

Since you're unwilling to spend the $$ on new speakers then u should first isolate the problem before u decide to part with those greenbacks.
Take out the lil' bitch and hold it in ur hand while it's connected then crank it up to the point where u usually hear the noise.

If it's gone just then, your housing is the problem. Check for cracks and warped/rubbing parts of your kick panels and some clear silicone VERY neatly applied will do the trick.

If it still rattles then u hafta change 'em. Rule of thumb is that u change the pair instead of just one and the general practice is that u use the opportunity to upgrade.

In adequate powering may also be part of the problem. If when u crank it up the diaphragms move alot but it really isn't that loud (given that it hasn't start clipping just yet), then maybe it isn't getting as much juice as it should. If you kinda understand physics (Lenz's Law & Flemming's Law), you'll understand why underpowering a speaker (or any inductance device for that matter)can do more harm than good. Get juiced up.

There are a number of quality manufacturers u can look up that can be compatible with ur budget or if u have a good nose for a bargain u can find some hole-in-the-wall somewhere that sells 'em fairly cheap...lol but be careful, most times cheap=hot when it comes to car audio.
