what year would be good for starts....and know if it was a plug in emblem or glued on would be nice to know too.

if it was plugged in....just pop it out, use some sorta cleaning liquid to rub around the area and get rid of any **** or maybe glue...then fill the holes in with whatever you fill appropriate...but be smart about it...then sand and refinish.

glued on - pull it off easily...maybe using a razor or some sorta knife...when u get it off, take as much glue off as you can with the razor or knife then use a cleaning compound to get the rest off...

Good Luck....

sure someone else could go into more detail...such as what cleaning compounds and what not are best...

They are a combo of glue on/screw in --- the LE & Toyota emblems (which I shaved as well) have a little peg(s) that will leave a visible hole when removed. So this needs to be filled and then that surface needs to be painted to give that nice and clean look. Probably best to wait until that area is going to be painted. Bad shave jobs look like someone jacked your emblems.
