Washer Fluid not working

I have a 2000 Camry LE V6. Washer fluid container is filled but the low washer fluid level light is on and when try to use the washer function it just drizzles out of the squirters (for lack of a better word) on the hood of the car. However, if the hood is open they squirt the fluid properly onto the windscreen. Any ideas?

when you close the hood maybe its squashing the hose. Try rerouting the hose. Your low washer fluid light should reset itself if not, try cleaning the sensor or just disconnect and reconnect the battery.

Thanks Marc, I'll check the hose as you said, I've already tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to no avail. As for cleaning the sensor, I have no idea where that is.

Check for the possibility that the little eyes on the squirters on the hood have become clogged. Try clearing them with a pin. Also, make absolutely certain that the fluid container is full. You need to open the lid and look down inside the container. Stains form, over a period of time, on the inside of the translucent fluid container and make it look like it is full, when it is actually low.

Thanks for your input Mike, I'll try the thing with the pin that u suggested however as I mentioned they work fine when the hood is open. The fluid container is full as I filled it myself, the first thing I did after seeing the fluid level low light.

Ok I fixed the washer problem, just re-routed the hose so that it wasn't being squeezed by the hood. I still have the washer fluid low light on though, no idea how to get rid of that, someone mentioned cleaning the sensor, could you let me know where to find that please?

Glad the main problem is fixed. Marc780 get's the prize. As far as the sensor, it should be inside the washer fluid bottle. You may have to remove the washer fluid bottle to get it out.
