Lightbulb Quiet tires

Hello, I'm using 215/R16 Toyo Proxes J33 on a Gen5 camry SE. The ride is superbly stable and extremely quiet on well paved roads as well as most highway. However, on a stretch of coarse pavement on the freeway, tire thrum is noticeable. I would like to know if anyone can suggest a tire that can deaden the thrum even on coarse pavement while maintaining about the same handling characteristics as the tires I have on right now.

Thanks

Probably some comfy-luxo Michelins will do the job, like the MXV4 Plus which come standard on many big bimmers. Check TireRack.com for tons of review on tires.

haha, thats what happened to ford and the firestones, then wanted a smoother ride so they put on tires with softer side walls or somthin like that, but they were a bit to soft and would blow when it got hot

I'm going to take a look at the Michelin MXV4, but from what I've seen of them personally, they tend to squeal a lot. Anyone use these tires and can report good things?

omg I thought I was the only one with this porblem!! I had two in the rear only. But my tires were yokohama. Its funny though because the noise was only coming from my rear right side. It would sound like a humming noise at certain speeds. Usually around 15-40 mph. I went back to my michellens. Noise is gone now. Thank you EKam for providing that link. Now I can shut my dad up and prove to him that its not from the rims!

JEEZ! Now I feel like a large stone has been lifted off my chest.
