Hey, accidentally lockd my keys in my car, just wondering if any of you gen 3 people, have had to break into your own car, and if so, how did you do it...Please pm me, so your not giving out breaking in tips to everyone out there. Thanks...
Nm, admins can close this or dispose of it...got in...thanks guys...
yeah cops wont do anything, they'll just call a towtruck company to get me in, and charge me an arm and a leg....
I did the same thing this weekend, luckily there were 3 of us there though. I used a coat hanger and went through the door gasket above the switches on the driver's side, one friend pulled out on the top of the door so it didn't pinch the coat hanger so hard, another lifted the door handle repeatedly for the dome light. I finally managed to hit the window switch and roll the passenger window down (car was running.) The unlock swictch would have been a bit trickier but could have been done.
damn, my car was in garage...and not running...fuck, first time i have ever done this, felt like an idiot, especially after making fun of numerous people for doing the same thing at shcool
Call AAA man! Thats what your paying them for! And if u dont have it, get someone who does and say he was at the wheel at the time! My uncle did that on Firday.

Believe me, the unlock switch can NOT be done. I tried. Oh how I tried when I locked my keys in my trunk 45 miles away from home and the cops wouldn't unlock my door for me. What ends up happening is that if you manage to get some wire through the top of the door and actually manage to hit the unlock switch, the switch won't do jack since the slightly open door (from you opening it far enough to jam the wire in) stops the locking mechanism from working.
It was a really bad in my case since I ripped up the seal on my door pretty bad while I was trying to do that. Speaking of which, anyone know where I can buy that plastic seal so that I don't have to pay oodles of $$$ to have the dealer fix it? I'm probably leaking heat/cold through my door now since that seal is broken.
I ended up having to hitch a ride home from a co-worker, getting a spare set of keys, then drive all the way back with my dad to get my car. Not a good day.
