Return it to stock. Short ram intakes will actually decrease performance.
Oh you're from Worcester... If I see you when driving by Worcester or dropping off my roomate I'll flag you down or something.

Ya i gotta short ram intake for my car. i was just wonderin how you go about mounting it so it is more stable. Because it came with a small bracket but there is no spot on the intake tube that the bracket bolts to. so i just have it resting on the bracket. The intake pipe comes out of the manifold with two worm brackets then the filter mounted with'a worm bracket its kinda just suspended in the air. Can you help me figure out how to stable that thing????

Get some plumber's strap from Home Depot for like $1.99 and strap it to the battery tie down. I'm running a short ram intake for the winter here, my CAI got way too filthy last year.

Yeah my short ram was terribly unstable. I used one of those plumbers brackets that I bought at home depot. Imagine a piece of metal shaped in the form of a question mark (?) except you can close the loop off. It scratches the outside of my intake a lot, but I frankly don't give a crap. I also used a total of 3 ring clamps to make that thing stay still.

Before I had all these clamps in place, I ran into a problem when one day I noticed something didn't seem right and opened up the engine bay only to find that my goddamn intake had actually fallen off and the thing was just sucking unfiltered air in.

The only reason it might not reduce power would be due to the fact that the stock Camry intake is loaded with all sort of noise reducers, air restrictors, and other parts ment to make it quite and clean, but that hot air suxors!

ok this is easy, but you need access to a mig welder.
get some 3/8 steel about an 1 1/4 inches wide, cut two 1.5 inch peices, drill centered holes in them with a drill press measure the distance between your wheel well and the built in hanger hole on the intake, get a bolt, washer, lock washer, and a nut, [ =bolt, ( =washer, { =lock washer, ] = nut, | = fab steel bracket. it should be mounted up like this [( | {] . Then go to a muffler shop and match mandrel bent steel up to the size of your short ram, ie 2.5 inch and get them tp match up and measure out the piping down and out of your engine compartment, you can use rubber fittings and hose clamps or pay to thave it welded, but I suggest using and make more brakets to secure it like the other one. Get an AEM bypass valve as well. And there you have it, a cheap way to make a CAI, I suggest starting with a production short ram for the IAT sensor and all that jazz, fabbing places for that is annoying, but doable, just a ass load of work.
