SAAB 9-5 vs. Camry

guys, please help me out with your advices:

(granted, it might be biased here )

where: Chicago
what:
Toyota Camry LE V6 '01 39K for $11200
vs.
SAAB 9-5 2.3t '00 34K for $14600

my thoughts:
Camry is plain (JBL speakers thou) + warranty expired;
SAAB has it all: moonroof, leather, heated, power everything, remainder of the warranty, etc.
camry has 6 pots, 9-5 has 4
camry is (apparently) more reliable on the US roads... + it costs less...

which one is better for a young family of two?
thx a lot!

I don't know if asking a bunch of guys who all own Camry's is the way to decide... I'd check out Edmunds and do some research.

is the saab a sedan or hatch, cause the sedans are pretty sweet lookin, not sure about the dependability tho. my bias opinion would be the cam, just cause then yur kids will be into toyotas and stuff like that, plus how is the safety rating for saab's?

Wow... that's a very good price for a Saab. It's a reliability v. fun decision.

Pretty much. I'd take the Camry cause I wouldnt have money for repairs all the time. My cousin's fiance has one and he's complaining about how much shit breaks in it.

for that much you can get a lot better and make it MUCH faster. OK NEVER EVER EVER EVER get a saab I worked on an old school 9000 turbo. Those things are death machines. There is an electronics box on the underside of the car that if hit properly can result in a big explosion, no bullshit. They are just medicore cars, Swiss people should stick to Volvos, clocks, and knives nothing and I mean NOTHING more.
A camry is the most popular car in the us for a reason, its a damn good vehicle. The 4 banger is mechanically superior to the 6 and easier to work on, but I would rather deal with the minor short comings of a 6 and have power.

Take that 14,600 go on ebay motors and get a 240sx in decent condition 89-94 and drop in basic bolt ons, a few treats, and lighten up the car a little bit and beat every single camry on this forum and still have 6 grand leftover. Then you can use that 6 grand to get a turbo with 8-12 psi and all the goodies that go with it and be fast as shit. And its a rear drive car!

Then u can use that 6 grand sto start converting that 240 into a Sylvia. Money well spent right there. And no center console in the way to prevent u from getting head!

I'd say SAAB without any hesitation. Simply because there's so much more for so little more. But hey if those stories about its reliability are true... aw hell I'd still go for it and deal with the buyer's remorse later. :p
