'Cause the crap you buy off ebay is never pre-fitted so you might end up need more expensive body work just to get that darn kit to fit. Personally, I don't have a kit...don't plan on gettin' one either...but that's what I've heard about getting body kits from people with a lack of reputation (unlike Wings West, Kaminari, etc....too bad they don't make 'em for Camrys...but whatever..)
i'll start making custom gen 3 grilles (and maybe some gen 5 when the wholesale comes down). We'll be re-selling for a few good companies, and eventually, we'll have them for the best around. One of the things my business partner and I want to do is specialize in hard-to-finds, Camry, RX-7, etc., since so many people have these cars and there's little aftermarket support for them (rx-7 does have support, but few people know how to work on/with rotary engines, and you can find little styling things for gen 2)
its official I have heard that fitting problem from about 70 different peeps now. I wondered if you had a friend with a horror story. There is a Canadian place that makes some Ondergrund or spelled like they wish they had a German name

i got beef with ebay because of their listing policies, and from the fact that if someone takes more than 1 month to deliver your item (aka you just gave up $$$ and ain't gettin sh*t) you can't dispute with paypal b/c you only get 30 days with them, and aside from squaretrade dispute resolution, all you can do is leave negative feedback and that doesn't stop folks from ripping people off.
I'm saying that, and I own an ebay store (not active for another 12 days thanks to their bs policies)
Nah...i don't have a horror story to tell from a friend, but i have heard a good dozen or so stories about how those imitation black widow kits have screwed some people over. I'm pretty much against "body kits" since they're equivilent to "rice" (that's so politically incorrect, but whatever, I'm asian...)
The only "aerodynamic tuning" I'd ever get (if i had massive wealth) would be something made by Mugen or C-West for a car that could use the extra downforce. Since those packages are wind-tunnel tested and manufactured to near-perfection, it'd probably be worth spending the money. Otherwise, instead of getting kits, throw on some big rims, nice lights, and you're car 'll look considerably nicer.
Ok...dunno where I was going with this one...but....yea...
I too believe buying a kit off ebay is a risky... as these kits are extremely delicate and difficult to ship and everyone points fingers when something is broken or doesn't fit.
Even with a supposedly reputable company like ED some parts didn't fit well and required alot of custom work. They also gave zero help when I had questions or problems with the kit. Not to totally trash them though I do like my kit... it just looks nothing like the picture on their website.
I agree. I just wanted to know if ebay was a wise choice. From the consensus I get from well everywhere, its best to just not touch the idea with a pole.
Yeah I lost $550 on ebay, and did squaretrade and all that shit, the seller had a 6000+ positive rank, ebay "blah blah blah, our pockets are lined nice now go buy more shit and stfu"

they deleted 48 listings I had b/c the pics for my visa logo were slightly larger than their rules allow.
my account's suspended because "we here at HPMODZ.com" was in my ads. I didn't get a chance to change them before they deleted them and suspended my account, and now they sent me a bill.
Trent Lott will get a NAACP image award b4 i pay that bill
(sorry about the politics - i'm bitter)

I like the kits at ED (Extreme Demensions). I just want something to replace the stock look, specially the skirts and the front bumper, theres a kit with sweet molding for aero purposes, but I have read around its safer to wait for the wind tunnel tested stuff and for good reason, we have all prolly seen the RX7 vid where its on the salt flats and just goes flat spin.

Umm unless the bodykit is being made by that particular car man8ufactuer, like TRD and so forth, no aftermarket bodykit is gonna be wind tunnel tested, that is too much money to invest into something that comes and goes like the seasons.
Plus unless the kit is a custom job, it has been made orginally by a car company and everybody else just followed and copy the design to fit other cars example EVO series.
What year car?
