Replaced fog light on 08 Camry SE
I had to have the right side fog light replaced as it had come loose from the mount. Toyota service rep gave me the fog light and the only thing wrong with it was 1 of the 4 screw mounts was broken. He says it looks as if something must have hit the light. I see no other damage to the light or area surrounding the light. Anyhow, the light still worked but he insisted that it needed replacing. The replacement was done before I got there and saw the actual issue. The one screw mount that broke is the top left if you are looking at the fog light head on. He says that this mount is the one that takes most of the weight and pressure of holding the light in. My questions were...what's the purpose of the other 3 screw holes on this assembly? They apparently were not being used because there was no damage to those at all. Why could those three not be used to remount the existing light since it still works? He said that it "might" not hold. What????? Does anyone have experiece with the factory fog light assembly and mounting in the 08 Camry with SE ground effect package?
