I have a 94 Camry v6 and I was wondering if a header is even worth buying and even if they make them for my car. Also I was wondering exactly what does the header do?
Ill handle this. The headers connect to the engine, and collect and direct the exhaust gases out of the engine and out the ass end of your car. I have seen headers for the 4cyl, and I am pretty sure they are around, check out http://www.bosalperformance.com/ I am pretty DAMN sure they carry them. They can be worth it in some aspect, but dont exspect a huge diffrence in your 1/4 miles time. Headers, just like your entire exhaust system and your intake manifold, can not "increase" your horse power. I say increase because its not INCREASING it, it is ALLOWING your horse power to meets it potential. Aftermarket headers and manifolds are smoother inside, and have less bends. This means air can flow through them fast, ALLOWING more air to enter your chamber during the intake cycle. Simple rule of thumb, more air = more fuel. More air/fuel = bigger bang. Bigger Bang = Higher horse power.
I am going to answer the only because your a newbie. Usually you will get about 40 guys yelling at you to search the fourm, but Ill be nice as hell about it... i was new once two.
The headers vary in prcing, you will have to check the specific sites/companys for that.
As for the turbo, this is where you would get bi*ched at ALOT, but in the persuit to be MR.Nice Guy, there is one set up I know of for the V-6, and that is a super charger from TRD (trdusa.com) That is your best bet I beleive, it suppose to be a beast.
The TRD Supercharger is meant for 1997 - 2001. It will not fit his 1994 V6. As for headers, Bosal only makes headers for the 4cyl, not the V6. Unfortunatey, gen 3 V6s have it rough.
However ELP I THINK has developed headers for gen 3 V6. Maybe one of those guys will jump on this thread soon.
For turbo (or supercharger) you could go custom, if you have the money for it.

Remember Gibson's 94??
Its Gibson's 95... and it was not trouble free. There aren't too many people as technically inclined as Gibson.

you can really only add so much to your car to help increase performance because at a certain point you take away from your low-end and lose back pressure which basically gives your car the power off the line which you are probably looking for...good luck though but I have only seen them for the V6 as well

I can almost garantee that you won't lose any low-end if you get Y-pipe + headers for the V6. You will only lose your low-end if you are getting something like muffler and intake.
