When we bought our '03 LE my mom, (i'm only 16 ) decided to be cheap and go for the 4cyl , is there anyway that i could swap in the 6cyl? are there different engine mounts for the 2 diff engines? Or maybe it would be easier for me to just buy a cam with a 6? any tips would be great, thanks everyone
you can swap put a 6 in there, but then you'll have to change the front springs to compensate for the weight of that engine. that is you need the stiffer springs from a v6.
as for the engine mounts i'm not sure how big a difference there is between the earlier models to the gen 5. but i'm sure it won't be that much difference.
or you can save up your money and whack in a turbo, new ecu, intercooler, exhaust system and air filter for some extra go.
but its all up to you my friend.

Don't swap in a V6. Too much trouble and money. You are only 16. Learn how to drive the 4 cyl as best you can and save up and buy the rippmods supercharger. www.rippmods.com It is about 3500 bucks however, it will still be cheaper than a V6 swap, will give you more power, and in the meantime while you are saving up the money, you can learn proper car control and how to be a responsible driver.
Edit: I see you have a 5th gen now. I was thinking 4th gen for some odd reason so the supercharger I was talking about will not fit. Read my post below for other options.

It won't fit...but I agree with his other point. Iron out your driving first...the last thing we need is someone in the hospital because he didn't know how to handle his own car.

Oh yeah, I missed that he had an 03 which is a 5th gen. Ah well, I guess you are out of luck with that one. lol
The 5th gens have really nice 4 cyl. engine though so my statement still stands. Swapping in the V6, especially if you try and buy a new V6 engine for such a new car would be waaaay too much money. Do what I said before regarding learning how to drive and turbo it. That 4 cyl has plenty of power anyway. Hopefully you got the 5 speed to take advantage of it all. If all else fails, after you save up, trade it in and get a new Camry SE with the brand new 3MZFE.
haha thanks fer the input, Yea i like the feel of the 4cyl, and there's not really any point to having the 6 cyl if i intend on having this as a car for cruisin in .... but don't underestimate my driving skills, i've been driving high performance BMWs since i was 10 (my cousin owns a shop )
note: driving a high performance vehicle doesn't make you a good driver. Not saying your a bad driver, just remember there is always more to learn, especially if you going from an M3 to a 4 cylinder camry.
Also remember that you are still 16. You can have fun, but know your limits and don't endanger others around you. Ive been in a few big car wrecks in my day so I certainly remember what it was like to be young(er) and crazy .
Feel happy, you have a 2003 camry as you first car. My first car was an 85 Chevy Blazer S10. 2.8 liters of raw crap.

Everybody runs straight to power..... How about the suspension and brakes? Getting a Camry isn't exactly 'going the cheap way'. Are you going to be doing the maintenance on this car, or just make yer mom take it to the shop?
