Gen 5 V6 has 6000 miles, it it safe to switch synthetic oil now ?

I agree. It is safe. I change to synthetic when my car was burning oil, and it stopped burning oil. Then I changed the engine cause everything was wearing out, and I am still using synthetic. It's worth it.

Thanks guys. I just changed oil last night with Mobil 1 5W30 synthetic. I had hard time to remove oil filter, there was not much space around oil filter area and the filter was too tight.

Buy the K&N filter. Its expensive, but its better at filtering synthetic and it also has a ratchet extension on the end so its super easy to take off.
