Angry Help, my car turned gutless!

A friend of mine installed an air intake in my 99 V6 Camry. After he got it in we took it out for a spin. Now it is very slow accelerating and ding the check engine light came on. He told me I probably just have to reset the computer on my car, so I unplugged the battery for about 8 hours last night and when I turned the car on the check engine light was still on and its still accelerating slow.

Any tips?

When the computer resets, it usally has to re-learn the engine (this comes second hand info, may not apply to camry ECU's) so you have to drive it for 10 min or more. If you think the new air intake is a problem, pull the filter off for 10 minutes and drive it around to see if its clogging it up. (but dont leave it off indefinately or drive in dirty air). an air intake is a pretty easy think to do. check the seals around the air intake, make sure your not loosing your air coming in somewhere
