remote door lock?

Hi I'm new to Toyota. Over 30 years worth of Honda Accords. The Camry Sedan was $1000 less than Accord and my money is tight. Just purchased a Camry sedan and it does not have remote door locks. All 4 doors do have ele locks and they are slaved off the drive door so I'm guessing the hard part is installed by the OEM.

Is it possible to get the OEM ele FOB door lock added to my Camry? Approx cost?

Would it be better to get a complete aftermarket alarm added w/ door lock control?

I have no reason to worry about car theft. Insurance premium savings would be the only real reason. Wife just wants the ability to open the car remote with light coming on etc.

This is one question best answered by your Toyota dealer. Give them a call and ask. Tell them you specifically want a Toyota OEM system or they will price an aftermarket system and have it done and then just take a markup on it. You can call around to a few independent shops yourself to get a price comparison. I believe you can get a remote lock/unlock system installed at Best Buy or Circuit City. I'm not really a big fan of these places for electronic auto work, but at least you will have a nationwide warranty from a place that figures to still be in business 5 years from now. Most of the independent shops I have known are in business a few years and then are gone.
