Well, if you plan on running your stereo with the car off, then Optima yellow top is what I recommend. Otherwise, just get a 1F capacitor if you have a 1000-watt-capable amp. However, for the yellow top or red top, the OEM battery terminals will NOT reach the top posts. I think the orange top has reverse leads on the side posts (GM), so you can reverse the battery and still use the wires.

I have a yellow top in my '98 and I had to rewire all the power and ground. There are two grounds, one under the battery tray, and one to the engine block. There are two powers also, one to the starter directly, and one to the fuse box. The one in the fuse was a big PAIN to get to since I had to trace through the bundles.

If you get an Optima, make sure you get the plate to elevate the battery, so that it will be same stock height, and still use the factory tie down. Here are some pictures.

Diehard batteries are pretty good, though its CCA isn't as large as the Optimas. But you can easily get a Diehard Gold for around $80 with the trade-in. BTW, don't let them charge you $8 for the exchange labor. You can drive your car there, park it, remove the old one, take it in, and exchange it. That's what I did for my friend's Gen3 before. I believe the battery terminals are held down by 10mm nuts on the side. Just make sure you disconnect the negative post first.
