I have been getting extra bad gas mileage latley, Usually I'll get just bad. I've got a 92 V6 SE. 3VZ-FE. My last tank I got only 250 miles to the tank. This tank it looks like its gonna be about the same or less. Anyone know anything that might be cause this bad milage. I have a K+N intake, I was gonna take that out and put the stock back in. Other than that theres nothing. The fuel filter isnt that old, and neither is my PCV valve. Also, I timed the car not even a few months ago. So that should be good too. I am kinda lost. Any help would be great.
Has the performance of the car changed? Do you hear any funny hissing sounds? I had a bad cat that caused me to really drop my gas milage. Hope that helps. Good luck.
i got the same problem on my gen 4 4cyl. i used to get about 290 miles to the tank now i get something like 250 a tank. i had went to autozone and they told me something like the vacuum pressure is bad in one of the lines or something like that. i also use high octane gas on my car (cant remember the number ).
Wow, you guys realyl don't get htat much to the tank, I used to get allmost 500 miles in my tank and now i'm averaging somewhere between 350-400 Miles per tank.

E Brake might be caught a little, I can hear a grindin noise sometimes. But I dont think I have to worry about that.
Yes, I am blastin the heat alot. Its cold in NY now.. LoL
And yes the performance of the car has changed, its seems slower, and less peppy. But I was attributing that to the many exhaust leaks I have. I think I am going to maybe put my stock airbox back in, and take the gutted cat I have and put my Camry one back on. I knew the cat would affect gas mileage, but I dont think it should be that much.
Just like AMScamrySE mentioned, id check the O2 sensors. My 95 V6 LE (119,000 mi) was running rough and getting bad gas mileage. I replaced them and the car runs great now.
I picked up the bosch universal 4 wire (part #15734) and wired them up with the connectors they came with and had good luck, plus they only cost $69 each.

thats cool and all if you drive granny style. im taking my cam to redline all the time.gunnin it off the line.
Check your oxygen sensors. If you bought the car second hand then check your "Check engine light" also. The previous owner of your car could have needed to change the O2 sensor but instead opted to remove your "Check engine" bulb and sold it to you as is. So deff have your O2 sensors checked before anything else.
