Cleaning out automatic shifter

Hello,

I have a gen 5 camry XLE and spilled some coke in the shifter thing. Whos bright idea was it to put the cup holder right by the shifter Anyway now its all sticky when going from park to drive and I am wondering if there is a way for me to easily get in there and clean it all out so it doesn't stick?

Thank you,

Dan

yeah man....there is a plastic piece surrounding the area by the shifter that has the P R N D...etc. you can use like a small butter knife or something flat to pop that off (start closest to the back poping it off) once you get that off you can take the small screw out of the front of the shifter and lift if up.
Should just have the P R N D thing left to pull out...there will be four clips (2 on each side) that you need to undo and it will pull out....

...Now get ta cleaning....GOOD LUCK
