Is a 40 offset on 16 inch rims good/safe on a 96 V6 LE? And if not, what problems could arise from this?

I'm pretty sure we're good for up to 45 offset...if not, someone will see this and correct me, hopefully.

Dosn't it also depend on the size of the tire? I think I have 205/50/16's equipped. Im not so sure; I need to go back out and check but its raining cats and dogs outside.

Tire size does make a difference, but with that combo youre safe. Stock offset is about 38, correct? 40 won't be a problem at all.

might pick up some 16s today so i need to knwo the stock offset for the Gen 3 I4s with the 14" steelies. i searched b ut all the asnwers varied.

My offset on my 16's is 40. It seems to be working fine for me. But I dont know if its good for a 4 banger
