Everytime I go over a speed bump or hit a bump in the road, the back of my 93 camry sounds like a squeeky bed. Are my struts gone bad, if so how do i tell if i need to get sealed or the servicible kind?

It's not so much the struts that are squeaking it's the bushings in the back. I told my mechanic about the noise before and he told me it was probably just the bushings that need to lubricated.

If it is a squeak then it could just mean that your struts or swaybar bushings just need lubrication. When you take it in for tune-up at Toyota they will lubricate everything that needs to be lubricated. Drive it in and let them look at it the next time you take your car for an oil change even.

my 92 des the same thing. if i remember correctly my toyota mechanic told me it was the bushings for the sway bar orsomething back there but it was definatey the bushings. when i get the whiteline sway bar and out it in the urethane bushings i'll le you know if the sound goes away.

I have the same noise too...from talking to everyone, it's most likely your rear sway bar bushings.... It's gets really annoying when going over little tiny bumps and ridges in the road. If you want, you could try lubricating the bushings with marine lithium white grease. This may take away the noise for a few months...but you'll probably have to regrease it later on. It's a common problem for Camrys.

Anish: the check's in the mail for the swaybar....
