My sister just got a 92 Chevy Baretta, it blows. My brother beat the sh** out of the poor thing. I went out to see how shes running, and I gave her a lil gas.... she starts "coughing" when I am hitting mid/high RPMS. its a HUM HUM HUM HUM type deal... its not a rev limiter, Im not red lined.... the engine is assed, and I need to know what the f*** is wrong with it. I figure who better than these guys!

You hit on the problem yourself... its a Chevy!

Try to see if you can get ANY salvage for it... maybe a can of pop and chips and then tell her to get an import!

Seriously man... take it to the dealer and let them look at it. I predict a very expensive tune-up... might not be even worth it. What would that car be worth now anyway? $1000 - $2000 US? Tune-up to fix that thing up will cost more. You might be better off selling it, adding the money that you might have used for a tune-up and a bit more and get a used 1990's Toyota (Camry/Corolla) or something.

Take it to GM and see what they say first. That sounds like it could be one of many many things wrong with the car.
