Unhappy didn't mark the old timing belt

hey guys, um, i didn't mark the old timing belt when i took it off. will it be really difficult for me to get the right timing? do i put the new one on now and mark it where i have TDC and rotate to make sure the marks line up after 720 degrees?

AFAIK, if you didn't move anything, the crank is set to TDC for the first piston and the timing gear is also alaigned (mark on gear and marking hole at the top). Then i guess it should be okay.

cool thanks.

however, when i initially put TDC with the old belt, i lined up the V notch on the cam at 0, but the mark on cam sprocket isn't straight up. is that ok? it's b/c the engine isn't totally straight up right? it's tilted.

Is it a four or six? Both engines have reference marks on the crank gear and cam gear(s); notches on the six cam gears, an alignment hole for the four cylinder cam gear. What exactly are you doing to the engine? There are DIY threads available with picts so you can see how it is done.

I didn't mark on old timing belt when I replaced it. Just line up all marks to TDC position.
