Question Please Help, Need advice!

Hey Im new to the group and I have some probelms! hehe
I just bought a 1994 Camry LE on Sunday and on Tuesday it quit working, . It has 237,000 miles on the engine, When I purchased teh car it had a half tank of gas on the way home I stopped and filled it up. Well I ran 1/2 tank out of it and now it wont start, it tries but it seems it isnt getting any fuel, like its out of gas. I thought for a second it was the timing, it kinda seemed that way, so I checked to see if the wires was getting spark, they are. So now I assume its teh fuel filter or pump..

So here is the questions.... does it sound like a fuel issue??
i bought a new filter, SO WHERE AND HOW DO I CHANGE IT?? Where is it located??
Also if it might be the fuel pump, any heads up on where that might be located, is it inside the fuel tank??
thanks
Brandy

The fuel filter is located right below the master cylinder and the air cleaner housing. Fuel pump is in the tank, pull the rear seat cushion to gain access to it.

Does it sound like fuel issue? Maybe and may not be. You may have to answer some questions and do some test first. Is the Check Engine Light coming on when you are cranking? Are you sure the fuel pump is getting power? Have you check for fuel pressure by cracking a line? Have you check to see if there is injector pulse? Until you find some answers to those questions, it is difficult to say what is causing your car to quit.

The fuel filter is located on the driver's side of the engine. Look down between the air filter box and the master cylinder, and you will see it. You will need both regular and line wrenches to change it. It can be a PITA. I suggest soaking everything with a good penetrating oil like PB Blaster for a while, if you choose to try to change it yourself. The fuel pump is located inside the tank. There is an access plate under the back seat. Stand in the middle of the back floor area of the car, hunched over, and place your hands on both side of the rear seat. Now give a sharp tug upward and it will pop out. There will be an access plate under there with 4 screws that need to be removed to reach the pump itself.

I would also suggest you go over to the Camry forum at AutomotiveForums.com. There are Toyota factory service manuals stickied at the top of that forum, that are available for free downloading. Download the one for the generation 3 Camry. I believe it is actually a 94 Camry manual. That will give you tips on how to check the fuel pump, along with lot's of other valuable information.

Well, start do some test, and post what you found. Does it have spark, fuel, check engine light? Those questions need to be answered before anyone can help you.
