I just bought an 04 SE v6 camry and when night comes the lights don't automatically turn on? Is this not a standard feature? Also the dealer didn't seem to know if some extra options are installed like security or the stability featrue so how can you tell what installed options I have? I see the flashing security led but is it real?

Your data plate should have most of the info. The serial number can be decoded to give you most of it. If there were aftermarket things added then of course this doesn't work. As far as the lights, mine has different settings. Like everything off, driving lights only, auto operation and all on. (I didn't go out and look but you get the idea.)

Somehow missed your last post. I have an '04 LE. BTW, I just checked the owner's manual and it appears there are two light options. If it has DRL off, DRL, a dash, and a light symbol then you do not have headlights which will turn off during the day and on at night automatically. Instead, whatever amount of lights you choose, they will (basically) be on if the car's running or off if not regardless of time of day.

As far as your car's options, call Toyota corporate at 1-800-331-4331 and talk to customer service. Have your VIN number handy to give them and they should be able to tell you what options the car came with when it was delivered from the factory. As someone mentioned above, they won't be able to tell you if someone added any aftermarket options.
