Check out this cheap way to remove rust. CHEAP AS CHIPS' RUST REMOVAL I haven't tried this myself but I believe it will work with regular vinegar. A little Google magic turned up the ctive ingedients in the malt vinegar to be acetic acid and citric acid. Best guess is that white vinegar with a shot of lemon juice in it might well produce the same result.
