Angry Oh-so-very-pissed

I received my order of clear bumper lenses and LED bulbs for my Gen 3 today...

They installed perfectly fine and look great in broad daylight...problem is...the LED bulbs that i got were labeled as "superwhite" but when they light up @ night, they're......well...

PURPLE!

wtF!???!?!?

I wish I had a digital camera, but instead i only have my Samsung e715 camera phone which I don't know if I can email pictures to myself, but yeah... I'm pissed. I sent AUTODYNAMIC the following email:

"Hello Autodynamic team,

I recently ordered (and received on 12/30/03) the following:

1156-LED-WHT : 1156 LED Super White Color (Quantity: 1, Order #17875)
194-168-LED-White : 194/168 White Push-in LED Bulb *Pair* (Quantity: 2, Order #17875)
156-LED-WHT : 1156 LED Super White Color (Quantity: 1, Order #17885)

I would like to request an exchange as I am not satisfied with the above products. They're labeled as "white" when in reality, they light up PURPLE behind my clear lenses. While they have been installed, they have only been in use for approximately 5 minutes. I wish to exchange the above that I previously purchased with the following:

194-168-LED-Amber *Pair* : $10.00
194-168-LED-Amber *Pair* : $10.00
1156-LED-AMB (Quantity: 2): $7.99 each

This way, I can save myself potential humiliation at the hands of my friends who find it funny that I have purple lights. Instead, I'll have orange (and it'll be legal too).

Thanks a lot for your cooperation guys. Reply back to let me know what options I have in terms of exchanging my purchase(s).

-Ray"

Amber > Purple ...anyday

At least your parts are installable, I just got a disk brake axle from a Starlet and it's beyond obvious the car had a hard right raer wreck. The trailing arm is bent in a pair of 45's and the axle shaft is off 1.5" along the length. Then we'll talk about rust.
The rotors are not turnable they are so severly rusted. The calipers are in similar condition.

Think I'm happy?

in case you're interested, being that you just got clear corners, you might want to consider getting some "chrome" amber bulbs instead of regular amber ones. the amber ones look ugly behind the clear but the chrome ones you can hardly see, and you still get orange light. they give your car a cleaner look. one thing though, they won't be as bright as stock bulbs but they work well, nonetheless and are perfectly legal.

you can search for them on ebay under "chrome 194 bulbs" i am sure.

Polarg (or something close to that, i can't spell) bulbs will make sure its white when it says white on the label... but they are kind of expensive.

i've had them for almost 2 years now.. very very satisfied.

I called Autodynamic this morning and some dude with a heavy vietnamese accent was like "Ohh...they purple?! I give you new ones!"

So yeah, I'm waiting on those to come in the mail.

Since I'll be ordering a new Razo shift knob real soon, I'm gonna give www.extremeredline.com a try. They have PIAA "Xtreme White" in the 1156 and 194/168 sizes. They have 194/168's in LED's too (PIAA), but they're rather expensive 22.95-pair.

So yeah, if i get the right bulbs tmrw (which I doubt i will), I'll keep 'em. But otherwise, I'm returned 'em for my money back and get 'em from ExtremeRedline.

My "white" Polarg's are more blue than white. I have them as parking lights, and they really don't match my Silverstars. Although my friend has the same bulbs on his gen3, and are much whiter than mine. Maybe they've changed?
