Radio Problem....

Hey toyota nation Im new here so treat me well!

So I have a 1993 Camry V6 LE Sport I paid $2000 CDN. It's apparently a rare car and it's fully loaded (leather) 5spd.

anyway I got a brake job done by my friends dad (new rotors, pads EVERYTHING) battery died because it sat in his garage for 2 weeks and now my radio won't work... it says SEC on it for the security feature (anti-theft?) and the little red key keeps flashing. So my radio won't turn on or anything, what the heck happened?

Yup, your radio's security system has kicked in. The battery dieing fooled it into thinking it has been removed. I presume you don't know the security code?... I believe it's a four digit number. Maybe someone wrote it in the owner's manual?

If not, you'll have to take the radio to a Toyota dealer to get them to clear the code. I have no idea if they charge for that. And they'll probably want to see some sort of proof of ownership.

Call around to dealers. In the US, some will do it for free, others charge up to $80.
