99 headlight problem

I have a 99 camry w/DRLs.

I was driving the other night and noticed my headlights seemed really dim, so I tried to turn on my brights. They did not work. The idicator will come on, but thats it. While doing a little investigating I reallized that only the DRLs are working. That is why they seemed so dim at night. The tail and marker lights are all working. I checked the fuses and realys and they are good. Any ideas?

How did you check the headlight relay? Did you swap it out?

I was getting continuity between a couple of the contacts on it. It does not have a schmadic on it so I am not too sure about it.

I'm not sure exactly how to diagnose this either. I did have the identical situation with an '82 Corona and the cure was a new relay.

Check the fuses? There are four different fuses for the head lights, two high and two low. There are also the DRL main relay, which is behind the center console area in the dash, and the dimmer relay.

N.E.O.
