Broken seatbelt.

Hey gusy, I dont know how this happened, or how long its been like this but I gotta fix it now.
My seatbelt buckle is cracked. I can buckle my belt but it will not hold if god forbid I was to be involved in an accident. Do you think if I bring it back to the dealership they will take care of this for me? Something like a seatbelt; shouldn't it be gauranteed for life or something?
If not then how can I tackle this problem? I dont have my Haynes manual anymore so I cant look for it. Searching for previous posts brung up nothing. Just a bunch of Jibber Jabbeer about racing seats.

Post in haste because this could save my life or my moms life very soon.

Attached is a picture of the belt and the crack.

just get a replacement and then replace it.....all you should have to do is unscrew the belt from the frame, and then thread a new one in place

not on an 8 year old car...

go to a junk yard and pick one up (of course its for a go kart/dune buggy since they're not allowed selling seatbelts for on road use)

Seat belts do have longer warranties and are covered under the emissions control warranty in some states. In MI, where I live, the seat belts are covered for 7 years. You should read your owners manual to find out about the warranty coverage. If you are just outside the warranty period you should call the Toyota 800# (not the dealer) and explain the situation. They can sometimes make exceptions to the general rules. Good luck!
