master key vs valet key

the handbook claims that there's a chip that activates the security in my gen4.5 in the master key under the plastic top

i like to use the metal key cause i think the master one feels flimsy.. the top plastic part anyway

but if i use this metal key, does that mean security doesn't go on? cause there's no chip?

thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but the only difference between the master and valet key in the 4.5 is that the valet won't open the trunk.

That is so retarded because cant you still get into the trunk by pulling the rear seat down? Thats how it is on my Gen3. If its still like that on your gen4.5 then dosn't it kinda defeat the purpose? Funny Toyota.

well you could also just open the driver side door and use the trunk release switch...

but maybe it's like that for some other reason?

There are locks on the back side of the seat, in the trunk, that will not allow you to fold down the seats from the inside, and if you lock the trunk with your key (turn the key the opposite way than if you were opening it) it will lock it and you can't open it with the switch from the inside. Hence the valet key. The trunk is now locked!!!
