valve guide seals, for the blueish smoke, and you probably have some worn piston rings (but they're still barely compensating by expanding when they heat up)

head gasket too maybe, does the white smoke smell kinda sweet?

i'd have a mechanic look at it, do a compression test and leak down test

in the mean time you can toss a bottle of engine stop leak gunk stuff in your oil, it might be a temporary fix

how many kms/miles?

like i said, have it looked at, they'll give you a work order/estimate

also shop around, i'd go to a few different garages, unless they each want to charge you a bunch for diagnostic labour

or you can live by the "oil is cheap" mantra, and just keep topping her up, who cares if it burns oil (until emissions testing is due)

I had those problems. I changed to synthetic, and it all stopped. I also passed smog with flying colors.

Who says you have to "pass" emissions? If u get buddy buddy with someone who does emissions u can just slid 'em a 10 and they automatically pass you. Well, thats what my friends do here at least. Its just a matter of finding someone who'll accept. Dealers do it all the time.
