1994 Camry Problem

I have a 1994 Toyota Camry LE Automatic 2.2 liter with 134,000 miles. My problem is if the car is in neutral you can race the engine in RPM's but as soon as you put the car in drive the car starts miss firing (falling on it's face). I tried a new distrubutor, an ignitor on the fire wall disconnected each injector one by one and they seem ok. I also pulled spark plug wires from each spark plug all seems to be working as normal. I still replaced all spark plugs. I replaced the fuel filter the fuel on the old fuel filter looked like tea (brown/dirty) I took the fuel pump off the tank thinking that the fuel tank was full of dirt or water but gas tank is clean. What could be my problem?

Assuming there is no check engine light on, missing under load usually indicates faulty ignition system components. Check the plug wires with a digital volt/ohmeter for resistance. How old is the distributor cap and rotor? Did the new distributor come with a new coil? If the ignition system components check out ok, then I would next think of a weak fuel pump. You will have to get a fuel pressure tester and some fittings to attach to the fuel rail to check it. If you need a manual there are Toyota factory service manuals stickied at the top of the Camry forum over at AutomotiveForums.com. Go over there and download the generation 3 manual. Good luck.
