Question Buy a certified used Camry sight unseen??

I found a Toyota certified used 2006 Camry that I am interested in some few hundred miles away with low miles. It has the exact options (and color!) that I want. I won't be able to drive out there for 2 weeks. I have only seen pictures. The 4.9% Toyota financing ends this month on certified used Camrys, and I don't know if it will offered in February.

So.... would you buy a certified used car sight unseen? Is there any reason to think that the car would *not* be in excellent condition? I would have to buy it now over the phone to insure it was still there, since I know these cars can go at any time. I've sat and driven a couple certified ones around where I live and have been impressed with all of them so far, but none had the right combination of options.

Buying a used car sight unseen is never a good idea.

Mechanically you'll have the certified warranty, but cosmetically- who knows. It's probably okay- but are you really willing that kind of cash?

Do yourself a favor- Camrys are everywhere. Sooner or later another one that exactly matches what you want will pop up... and odds are Toyota will have that offer on financing again some time in the future.

I decided to pull the trigger on it. I'll pick it up February 5th. The dealer said (and in writing) that if I'm not happy with it, I can back out of the deal. But in any case, it's off the market, which is what I wanted.

It's a certified 2006 Camry LE V6 in black, with only 12K miles. I had to do it (I hate the new styling of 2007-2009, and the transmission issues scare me).
