Alright, alright. I guess I deserve that. But I do need a few more general details (and yes I did a search and didn't find my answers there). I have a gen 3, so when I am looking for parts, can I choose from any of the gen 3 cars? For example, I have been looking for some new doors, are all the doors (and other body parts) compatible in each generation, or do I have to find my specific year? Also, as far as engines go, can I swap parts around for the 5sfe between generations, or again, do I need to stick with my own gen or year?

Body parts - stick with your own Gen

Engine parts - a 5SFE is a 5SFE is a 5SFE....

The rule of thumb for Toyotas from my experience and observation, that as along as you stay with in your gen for parts outside and in you should be fine. There are exceptions though, which generally fall into the headlights and taillights. Every 2-3 after a gen is produce there is a .5 Gen and for example since you have a 3 Gen Camry after 94 the headlights and trunk and tail lights as well as the grille are differernt as well as I belive the front bumper. Now with some light mod those items I just mention can and will interchange between the 3 Gen 92-94 and the 3.5 Gen 95-96 Camrys. Also the 3.5 Gen has a different V6 engine the the 3 Gen, but the 4cyl is still the same. Also the 4 Gen and 4.5 Gen all share the same 4cyl Engine with the 3 Gen and V6 engine as the 3.5 Gen.

Swapping out parts so that you can replace damage or missing is like using Legos with the exceptions that I mentioned above they are all interchangeable.

Hope this helps

big p he said he did a search but didnt find what he needed...

zoni.freeservers.com/history.htm
thats very general, but interesting...

if you have specific parts in mind, what are they? doors will work between years, only gen 3 though... engine parts MIGHT be different electrical sensors or something between 92-93 or 94-96... cause they changed the wiring in 94 from OBD to OBD2... different stuff! so if you have specific things in mind, post a question about them... remember on this board, be very specific... or you will get flamed, obviously...
