JIC coilovers need new mounts?

Im soon going to be getting the JIC-FL-A1 coilovers for my camry and would like to know if I still needed to change the strut mount for the front. I too have clunking noises and would like to know if it would be a god idea to go with the revised KYB mounts since I am getting the coilovers installed. Do I really need the mounts or would the coilovers handle everything?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I was just wondering how much you paid for your coilovers.

Thanks.

well if you contact blacksheep somewhere on the forum, or at one of the other camry/solara forums, he can get it for $1100 flat. I havent gotten them yet but its going to be a mod for next month.

the coilovers should replace everything up front, all the up to the metal on the mount point. let us know how it goes. i am curious if you will have to redo the top plate like i did on my gen3.

so basically everything gets replaced when the JICs are installed? What about the notorious clunking sounds would that go away too? I was thinking about fixing that problem by getting some sort of revised strut mounts but wasnt sure if I even needed mounts since it was a complete system. BTW swegyptian, I was wondering if you ever tried setting the rear shocks a little stiffer to try and get rid of the understeer. I currently have a TRD rear sway and set it to track settings while running lower PSI for tires in the front and higher in the rear. Seems to help a lot but would like it to be more throw-able by having a stiffer rear end. I was thinking of ordering a whiteline fsb, but that might mess up my handling making it understeer as usual under hard cornering.

i would not do the FSW, it will do what you think it will. my coilovers are the sf1, so non-adjustable. once you have the setup on your car, take it from there. if you still want it more tossable in the rear, i would buy different springs. you can play with the damper settings, but im not sure it will be enough.

ah, thanks for the info. I was thinking about going a whiteline fsb and keeping the shock settings soft in the front. Ill play around with the settings a bit before I make up my mind. I read that sometimes its better to eliminate body lean with sway bars front and back while keeping the front shocks soft and siff in the rear. Well, ill check things out and update you all when i get them installed.
