a week ago i got into an accident. i ran backwards into a hedgerow so i hit a bunch of brush rocks and trees. i just got to look at it for the first time since the accident today.
it appears as if there is minor damage only to the rear of the car...the trunk area and gas tank.
Immediately after the accident, the car would not start. there was the check engine light and some other light that looked like the back end of the car w/ the lights on(IDK...)
i was just wondering why it would do that...if it meant there were major problems that i havent gotten a chance to find yet or something else. i was sortof thinking that there were sensors in the car that knew it was in an accident and immediately cut the power. or maybe it could've been cause by the gas tank that was pushed up inside a bit.(see pic)
also...this isn't totally related but one time i was searching on ebay under camry parts and it showed a v6 celica/camry engine in there. is the v6 camry engine the same as the celica one?
heh..thats a good idea...never really thought about that i guess.
but i did sorta want to have an idea of what was wrong before i had it towed somewhere
we can't tell ya really, from a rear hit like that, well you could have lost pressure in your gas tank, you could have ripped the wiring to the oxygen sensor
yeah, the guy with the 1mz-fe in the celica is one of my friends and also a member of the same car club as me (UCSB car club, official on campus club). Its a pretty crazy swap, that little car is faaaast now even without the supercharger! He weighed it with the engine at something around 2700 pounds! Pretty amazing.
Dude dont worry about that. My car did the same thing when I ran over those cement things in a parking lot. there was this random cement block in the parking lot and I ran one over. After the front wheel went over it, the car came down pretty hard. The car just shut off and the Check engine light came on. Even my windshield wipers activated and stopped half way up. I must have looked so nubish at that time. The Mcdonalds lady was looking at me like some huge dork. I did feel like one at the time 2.
Anyways, this was a while ago and the car has been fine since. Just shut it off and turned it back on again. No harm; no foul. Now that thats settled, you can worry about repairing your dmg.

hahaha, those cement deviders got nothing on my gen 3, sure it scrapes a bit, but the only damage i've done is jumping a curb going too fast, one of my tires got unsealed, i didn't even bother taking the tire off the car, just jacked it up, put a belt around the tire to make it seal and used my buddy's little air compressor
both of the taillights still work but they popped out of their spots.
i finally got the car started later on today. the battery was dead because the trunk light was on for sometime up to a week since thats about how long it was open for.
LMFAO!
SAme thign happened to me 2!
This time in an accident involving my friend crashing into the rear of the car. Both lights just popped out. So I just popped them back in. hahahhaha!
No insurance company or nothing for me. It was his fault anyways so he just shut his mouth and left. He had 500 dollars worht of dmg. And me? only 60 dollars worth of paint to spray my bumpers. Tookme a day.

i plan on taking it to my high school to get it done though and they are very cheap since they dont charge labor. they seem to be pretty quick and i know they're good too.
does anyone happen to know what type of engine i have or know how i can figure it out? i think i might sell that separate from the car...or at least try.
