'09 Camry & carcomplaints.com

I tried to post some of the problems I've had with HerCamry on carcomplaintsdotcom in December and the web site would not accept them! There was no error message, the site would just do a logic disconnect.

So today, my wife calls and tells me she can not take HerCamry to work because the battery is dead. Nothing was left on. The car was last driven two days ago.

The battery is acting goofy. Sometimes the hydrometer eye is lit and sometimes it is not. The battery is sitting on my bench with an auto battery charger connected to it and the amp gauge is slowly oscillating about .5 amps. I have never had a battery act like that. At first it wouldn't take a charge and now it is drawing about 7 amps.

So, enough griping about this '09 Camry XLE that cost me $25,000 and gets piss poor gas mileage (for a four cyl car).

Anybody else have problems posting to carcomplaintsdotcom?

carcomplaints is mad that you didn't go to do the dealer for help...

But in all seriousness, have you gone back to the dealer to have this problem checked out? the car should definitely still be under warranty.

Have them check out the gas mileage, and have them replace the battery.

Edit: Wow this was from two weeks ago, and I didn't realize it. oops.

Once you have charged/replace the battery the ECU should be reset. The ECU will learn your driving habit the first 200+ miles. Batteries can be defective, so I would take it to your local dealership and they will probably replace it.
