I have a 1994 Camry, manual 4 cyl, 2dr, with 17" rims (215/45/17), that has been lowered 1.8" all around with drop zone springs.
Anyway I lowered the car and brought it to my local mechanic to have it aligned afterwards and explained my situation to him. He aligned the car and now, 6 months later by two front tires are wrecked b/c he aligned the car as if it was at the stock height.
The car is at another mechanic right now waiting to be aligned and get new front tires. But before the mechanic can do anything he needs the specs to lower the car with, like the camber, toe, and caster. I have no idea what these are or where to get these, so basically I am in big trouble. Please help me find these specs,,, thanks so much!
dont go to a mechanic, go somewhere that knows how to align the damn tires without SPECS... someone who knows how to do the alignment right. go to a performance tire/wheel place...
Ya man, I agree. When I had mine lowered, I didnt tell em jack shiat. I told em that I needed a 4 wheel alignment, and they ok, wheres the keys? Its all electronic and dead on accurate. Mine cost 50 bux, but it was a sale kinda thing.
I wud go to a "high class" tire shop, either that or call around to find out what places have electronic alignment racks. Cuz I used to go to a small garage when I had my old ranger, and he just put it up on a lift and aligned it by hand and eye. Not the best way to go.
Im not sure how much they franchised out, but theres a place I go to thats all over Atlanta, called Kauffman Tire, and they have performance tires/wheels, kinda pricey, but you'll never go back to have it realigned, at least after 6 months
My experience with wheel aligments has actually set me in the oppostie direction, those large well know garages use computer based alignment systems which only know how to return the car to factory settings. There is some extra work involved that many people are not willing to do either because of laziness or the lack of knowledge.
Before you go anywhere else you should call around to a few shops that specialize in alignments and ask them if they would be able to align a car with altered suspension. As for the last guy who did yours... that was a really poor job and you should let him know.

I recently bought the lifetime alignment at Firestone. It's about $150 and you can have it aligned as many times as you want a year.
You would have to check if there are a bunch of Firestone shops to choose from because only a few shops can work on lowered cars because of the limitations of their ramps.
Wow. I went to Dunn tire here in Rochester NY, and they showed me the spec's sheet and every thing on my lowered car. Looks to be in range and ALL acurate, but now I wonder, are those specs factory settings? HHmmm....
yeah i bought eibach camber bolts for my car and the shop said there was no such thing as camber adjustment for the front end of my car. i swear most shops have no idea what they're talking about, at least arouind here
